CARBOXYTHERAPY

Carboxytherapy is a ground-breaking new cutaneous and subcutaneous skin renewal treatment which is rapidly becoming the biggest advance and latest trend in aesthetics. It began in France, in the royal spas, with carbon dioxide rich water being used for bathing and the results were shown to effectively treat patients suffering from peripheral arterial occlusive disease and it also promoted wound healing. Carboxytherapy has been scientifically proven to improve skin elasticity and circulation, encourage collagen repair, minimise the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and getting rid of localized fatty deposits.

As we get older our bodies transport less oxygen to the skin and deliver more of it to our organs where it is needed more. By injecting carbon dioxide directly into the skin, carboxytherapy triggers the body to release more oxygen to the affected area via our bloodstream which in turn improves circulation. Poor blood circulation is one of the major causes of stretch marks, dark under-eye circles and cellulite. Laser Elite has a highly trained, friendly team of therapists that are qualified to perform this exciting procedure.

FAQ’s

What is Carboxytherapy?

Carboxytherapy or Carbon Dioxide Therapy involves injecting tiny amounts of Carbon dioxide (CO2) beneath the skin to increase blood circulation which breaks down fatty deposits and initiates collagen production. A single treatment takes between fifteen minutes to an hour and there is no rest period required. It is 100% safe, minimally invasive and is a scientifically proven method to restore, rejuvenate and revitalise the skin.
Some of the benefits include:
• Firms and brightens the eye contour area
• Tautens loose skin
• Stimulates long term collagen production
• Decreases a double chin by dissolving fat

How does Carboxytherapy work?

Carboxytherapy treatment works by introducing warmed Carbon Dioxide gas under the skin using a fine needle in the areas being treated. The body signals this as a lack of oxygen, and rapidly infuses oxygen-rich blood flow to the area. This improves circulation, which in turn stimulates cell reproduction helping to destroy fat cells which increases collagen formation.

What areas and problems are treated Carboxytherapy?

Carboxytherapy improves:
• Dark Circles
• Eye Bags
• Wrinkles and sleep lines around the eye area
• Hooded eyes
• Skin texture around the eye area
• Brow Ptosis
• Skin wrinkling
• Lip wrinkling
• Saggy Jowls
• Crepey necks
• Double chin Fat or Flabby cheeks

When should one start Carboxytherapy?

Carboxytherapy is non-invasive so we suggest starting as soon as you experience signs of ageing taking place. It is also a less invasive treatment with similar effects to Botox.

How can Carboxytherapy give back a youthful appearance and help the ageing process?

Carboxytherapy helps to maintain the “perfect skin” by keeping your skin firm and taught with collagen to avoid the inevitable sagging that takes place over time.

Can Carboxytherapy be combined with other treatments?

Laser Elite is excited to offer package deals with our FDA approved i-Lipo treatments which target fatty deposits, which are usually difficult to clear, and we include lymphatic drainage massage. The combination of 3 treatments together will target those fatty deposits hard and you will experience dramatic results after just four short sessions! At Laser Elite, the combination treatments every 2 weeks, in 3 months we can take your body back ten to fifteen years!

What can one expect after a Carboxytherapy Treatment?

After the procedure a crackling sensation under the skin can usually be felt until the gas is expelled. The treated areas should not be placed under water for about 4 hours after treatment. Only a few patients will get some bruising if a blood vessel is hit with the needle. Patients can return to work right after the procedure.

What does Carboxytherapy feel like?

The procedure uses a fine needle, which is less painful than a mosquito bite. Slight pressure may be experienced during the injection of the gas, a light pulsation as well as a light feeling of swelling under the skin also occurs. The CO2 is very soluble and quickly spreads out from the target area of the injection into the surrounding cells and id usually absorbed within 5 minutes.

How many treatments are necessary?

Generally, facial Carboxytherapy require 4 to 6 sessions of treatments. Clients require to have a 30-minute session every 2 to 4 weeks as each treatment is accumulative. Maintaining results requires a touch up session every 6 to 8 months.

What is the cost of Carboxytherapy treatments?

At Laser Elite we have a customized solution to make Carboxytherapy more affordable by combining it with the other procedures in a bundled package over a period of time. We pride ourselves in being the most cost-effective Carboxytherapy centre in Gauteng.

Is Carboxytherapy safe?

At Laser Elite, a highly trained therapist will perform a pre-screening evaluation to determine whether the patient is suitable for the Carboxytherapy procedure. Certain pre-existing medical conditions are not recommended which the therapist will advise on. CO2 is a natural by-product of the body and is not toxic, even in higher doses. It is extremely safe if done with the correct protocols and a pre-treatment medical consultation. Within 5 minutes of a procedure the gas is totally reabsorbed and the area treated returns to normal.

Can all skin types be safely treated with Carboxytherapy?

Carboxytherapy is suitable for all skin types without significant pain or recovery time, however it is recommended that a medical consultation prior to treatment is done.
