What IS IT?
Cellulite is the accumulation of fatty deposits usually found on the gluteal (buttocks) area, thighsand upper arms. Cellulite commonly has a dimpled appearance on the surface of the skin. Extreme celluliteis cold to the touch since there is less blood circulation in the area because the enlarged fat cells(adipocytes) restrict the blood flow. There are various factors that contribute to the appearance of cellulite including a sedentary lifestyle, the hormone oestrogenand periods of weight gain.
Cellulite also has two different types; soft cellulite and hard cellulite. Soft Cellulite is more noticeable because it is not attached to muscle. Soft cellulite is saggy and moves around more than the harder type. It also sits closer to the surface and usually affects larger areas of the body, making it easier to treat.
Hard cellulite is more concentrated and lives close to or on the muscle making it harder to get rid of. Hard cellulite affects athletic body types and is not as visible as soft cellulite. Hard cellulite can be sensitive to the touch because of its proximity to muscle.
Non-Surgical Skin Tightening
This treatment uses radio frequency to help reduce the appearance of cellulite. The skin is stimulated in the treated area to form more collagen, which tightens the skin.
The treatment is non-invasive so no downtime is needed and it is pain-free. This treatment should have a course of 8-10 sessions. Results can be experienced after the first treatment and will continue even up to 6 months afterwards.
